The Most Overlooked Step

Think By Design

Last week I had the pleasure of delivering Think By Design to my community. This seminar is a favorite of mine; it is the most important Life By Design step and, unfortunately, for most people the most overlooked and often ignored.

It can’t be said enough that most people are their own worst enemy.  They stand in their own way; they put themselves down, doubt themselves (where no doubt is necessary), place impossible barriers in front of themselves, and do many other unfortunate things.

I’m particularly happy when young children attend because I have the opportunity to help shape a young mind into someone who will grow up and think and act like a human being -- living a life at full potential.

One of my favorite Life By Design principles is the idea of requirement vs. strategies. It always gets talked about at Think By Design, and it’s shocking for most people to learn that the brain has requirements as well.

This morning in my readings I found a quote that summarizes the mental state of the world properly and the consequences of not meeting your mental requirements:

Man’s consciousness is his least known and most abused vital organ. Most people believe that consciousness as such is some sort of indeterminate faculty which has no nature, no specific identity and, therefore, no requirements, no needs, no rules for being properly or improperly used. The simplest example of this belief is people’s willingness to lie or cheat, to fake reality on the premise that “I’m the only one who’ll know” or “It’s only in my mind”—without any concern for what this does to one’s mind, what complex, untraceable, disastrous impairments it produces, what crippling damage may result. - Ayn Rand “Our Cultural Value Deprivation”

Keeping in the spirit of Life By Design, we focus on showing people what to do, not only pointing out what is wrong with the world.

We focus on the solution.

What is the solution?

The first step is to please go to a Think By Design seminar. You’ll learn about what to read and what to do there.

Your mind is the one thing that you need to do everything in the world. If you are not meeting your brain’s requirements (both physiological and consciousness requirements) your life is less than optimal.

Why should you live like that?

Now, its' your turn.  Have you been to a Think By Design seminar?  If so, what did you think?  What do you think are the requiremnts for an optimal mind?  Do you feel that you're fulfilling them?
