Eat By Design

Are you a vegetarian?

Maybe you are even vegan…

Or maybe you are still dabbling in vegetarianism and would call yourself a lacto-vegetarian, lacto-ovo vegetarian or a pescatarian, but still eat dairy, eggs or fish…sometimes.

If this is you and you also are not happy with your health, keep reading.

You care about reading this because being a vegetarian is important to you. You are a vegetarian for for one of three reasons:

1. Health reasons (you read that eating meat causes cancer, and raw vegetables prevent it)

2. Ethical reasons (you think that killing animals is immoral)

3. Environmental reasons (you think that eating animals is not sustainable and is ruining our environment)

But you also care about reading this because you know you do not look, feel or function as best you can.

Maybe you are not able to sleep through the night because you wake up with night sweats, your hair is falling out, your skin is breaking out, you are gaining or losing too much weight, you are always hangry (so hungry you are angry), you are freezing cold in the summer and sweating in the winter, you have headaches, you cannot focus or concentrate, you are constantly in a brain fog or you bounce from one flu or cold to another.

If this is you, I understand, and I can help.

Because I have been in your shoes.

Believe it or not, I have only been eating By Design for a couple years. Before this I was vegan for five and my health was a disaster and had reached  an absolute low point. So I may be able to understand what is going on in your head right now.

If you are like me you became vegetarian because you wanted to get healthy (or lose weight quickly), but you also thought that you could save the planet and animals too. But what you have likely started to realize is that:

  • Your initial weight loss is starting to plateau
  • Those first bursts of increased energy are not happening anymore
  • The impeccable digestion you once had is gone
  • The restful sleep you had is now keeping you up at night
  • Your ability to handle stress started out awesome but you are now anxious, irritable and depressed

…and you are starting to question whether being vegetarian is a good idea anymore. Whether it is healthy anymore.

The purpose of me sharing this is not to tell you that being vegetarian or vegan is wrong, or to convince you to start eating By Design today. I want to share with you my decision making process because I know you may be going through it right now and are looking for answers.

  1. First, I identified a problem. All of those signals I listed above…headaches, night sweats, hormone problems…the whole ball of wax. I had all of those. Almost every day. I knew I was not living the life I wanted to.
  2. Next, I sought out information. I attended an Eat By Design seminar, read the Eat By Design manual, spent hours researching on the Internet and most importantly asked a lot of questions.
  3. Then I brainstormed a solution. One that included introducing healthy animal protein, organ meats, eggs and fish into my diet.
  4. Next, I executed my plan. I decided that I would start eating By Design for thirty days and then evaluate at the end of the month whether this was something I wanted to continue doing. I learned how to cook meat, I tried new recipes and I restocked my kitchen with By Design essentials.
  5. And last, I monitored my results and evaluated the outcomes. At the end of the thirty days I started sleeping throughout the night, my skin cleared up, I stopped getting headaches as frequently, I was able to concentrate in school better and I did not get brain fogs anymore.

For me, choosing to start eating By Design was a long thought out decision, but deciding to stick with it and that this was going to become a lifestyle for a lifetime was a no brainer. It has been three years and I have not looked back.

For more simple By Design recipes why not pick up your copy of the Eat By Design Cookbook. I’ve created it in the form of a 28-day meal plan (plus grocery lists!) so you don’t need to think about what’s for breakfast, lunch or dinner for the next month.
