Today, we're talking about an analogy that I heard many years ago called the 'freight train'.
When it comes to health we're very short sighted in the sense that we love things to happen really, really quick. That's just our culture; we want things to happen tomorrow, not next week or five months from now, or even five years from now, we want everything NOW.
However, when it comes to the human body, that's just not how it works; those aren't the laws, and the principles that we have to live by.
We can't do everything wrong, or even some things wrong for an extended time and then expect things to just turn around instantaneously.
I think the freight train analogy really puts this into perspective for people.
So, I want you to think about this...
Imagine we have a freight train going in the wrong direction, and the faster that freight train is going, the more difficult it's going to be to stop it, and move it into the right direction. And, even to do that is a whole process. Now when I go to stop the freight train, it doesn't stop automatically. What happens is it has to slow down first, and as it slows down, eventually it comes to a halt, and comes to a neutral state, and then, and only then does it slowly start to pick up steam going in the other direction towards positivity or towards health.
The same is true in our bodies.
When we start to fulfill the requirements that our body needs, whether its fuel, movement, thought, or a clear brain body connection, we can't expect changes to happen instantaneously.
By understanding the process, we get a sense of trust knowing that doing the right things is having the right effect on our body, even though we may not be able to feel the changes going on right away.
The message today is be patient with yourself, and be patient with your body. Know that fulfilling the requirements is that's exactly what your body needs. It's just going to take some time.
We have to slow the free train down, bring it to neutral, and then pick up steam in the right direction. The exciting news is, once you're going in the right direction, and you're going fast forward on the right path, it's really challenging and really difficult to stop that type of momentum.
