What should I bring?
So I though I would give you a hand with an easy appetizer recipe that will pleases every crowd, every time.
Bacon Wrapped Dates
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes
Special equipment: none
Ingredients
- 12 slices of bacon
- 24 large Medjool dates
- ½ cup (100g) goat’s cheese
- 24 wooden toothpicks
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 375ºF.
- Cut lengthwise along each date and remove the pit.
- Put 1 teaspoon of goat’s cheese into the center of each date.
- Cut each bacon strip in half and bake in the oven for 5 minutes, or until edges lightly brown.
- Drain the bacon on a paper towel.
- Wrap one slice of bacon around each date, securing with a toothpick.
- Place in a baking dish lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10 minutes, turn, and bake for another 10 minutes.
Yields 24 dates.
I've replaced the goat's cheese with an almond before too and they are almost as tasty!
