EBD Recipe: Bacon Wrapped Dates

What should I bring?

So I though I would give you a hand with an easy appetizer recipe that will pleases every crowd, every time.

Bacon Wrapped Dates

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 20 minutes

Special equipment: none

Ingredients

  • 12 slices of bacon
  • 24 large Medjool dates
  • ½ cup (100g) goat’s cheese
  • 24 wooden toothpicks

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 375ºF.
  2. Cut lengthwise along each date and remove the pit.
  3. Put 1 teaspoon of goat’s cheese into the center of each date.
  4. Cut each bacon strip in half and bake in the oven for 5 minutes, or until edges lightly brown.
  5. Drain the bacon on a paper towel.
  6. Wrap one slice of bacon around each date, securing with a toothpick.
  7. Place in a baking dish lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10 minutes, turn, and bake for another 10 minutes. 

Yields 24 dates.

I've replaced the goat's cheese with an almond before too and they are almost as tasty!
